Domar Balmes

Domar "Dom" Balmes, a technical writer by profession, is a graduate student at the Asian Center, University of the Philippines Diliman, specializing in Japan and Northeast Asia. His research interests cover such subjects as the political economy of Japanese culture as in ramen and anime, memory & history, queer cinema in Northeast Asia, among others. He was a former Social Science faculty member at the De La Salle - College of St. Benilde and the University of the East. He is a "tsundoku" whose favorite authors include Elie Wiesel, Mishima Yukio, and Nick Joaquin. He haunts Booksale and Binondo in his free time.
