Having a vacation once in a while is a good reward for every person. So I have decided to take a break and have a 5 days/ 4 nights backpacking trip. I bought a cheap roundtrip ticket to Dumaguete during Philippine Airline’s promo fare online selling. From there, I have decided to have a tri-city (Dumaguete- Siquijor- South Cebu) adventure. My most fun and exciting summer this year.
Dumaguete is known for the city of Gentle People. The most popular activity to do here is to dive or snorkle at Apo Island which is known worldwide for its beautiful corals, abundance of fish and of course turtles which are just about everywhere in the island. Booking this activity is easy. You just need to book it with a local travel/ dive agency.
Siquijor says that it is the land of sorcery and black magic. But the time I’ve experienced with my own two eyes, what I saw was a paradise, because of its lovely clear water beaches and not over populated tourists. It is only a small island so you can tour it by renting a motorcycle if you have a driver’s license or if you are a first timer, renting a tricycle is more convenient because its driver will serve as your tour guide. Going here is super easy because its only an hour ferry away from Dumaguete.
My last stop is South Cebu. If this is part of your itinerary, its much better if your coming from Dumaguete because it is only 1-1.5 hrs away. Unlike if you are coming from Cebu City, it is 3 hours away. I spent 2 days here, so I did so many activities. In Badian, I tried Canyoneering with Kawasan falls, and it’s the best! So you better don’t miss this activity. In Moalboal, I did Island hopping to see and snorkle Pescador island and Sardines Run. In Oslob, i tried the whaleshark watching activity and also visited the very beautiful Tumalog Falls.
