2. Mami: Also known as “maming gala” dahil madalas itong makita sa mga kalye kung saan maraming tao gaya sa palengke o istasyon ng LRT. Sa halangang 20 to 25 pesos, you can already have a steaming bowl of fresh noodles or egg noodles in a steaming beef broth. Sometimes they also use beef pares sauce as flavoring. The good thing with our mami carts is that you can mix your own condiments from chiligarlic, onion chives, pepper, calamansi, hot sauce, soy sauce, and garlic bits.

3. Champorado: This is like Arroz Caldo but minus the meat and the savory flavors. Champorado is a choco/cocoa-flavored rice porridge that appeals so much to the Filipino sweet tooth. Try it, masarap!

This is milky, creamy macaroni soup with either chicken or ground pork, filled with carrot strips and pieces of cabbage. Sometimes celery is added to give it a nice, fragrant, herby smell.

The usual toppings can include veggies, kikiam and squidballs. But the Batangas Lomi is different with its brownish broth with an overload of toppings like sliced liver, crispy pork, kikiam, squidballs plus a sawsawan of chopped onions and red chilis in soy sauce.
